This was a Audio Video Production school group assignment during my 2nd year in Nanyang Polytechnic. We were task to Produce, Direct, Shoot and Edit a one to two minute promotional video.
Convey a positive message by telling a compelling story, we were required to:
• Develop a concept/idea for the video
• Analyse the requirements for the preproduction, production and post-production
• Capture and create audio and video and other production elements
• Edit and organise production elements to create the final cut
• Evaluate and select appropriate tools & techniques
• The film should combine some of these elements of continuity editing to lead viewers through a story, though seamless transitions from one scene to another.
After many iterations and discussions among our team members we finalised the storyboard on paper. We went out with our school rented Gimble equipment, attaching our phones to it and film all the shoots within a week. We came up with the voice over after we got all the footage and done editing the final video.
Besides UX/UI designing, I also have a passion for videography and editing. Visiting all those places with just a phone camera, limited phone space and under the hot sun to shoot was pure dedication. The amount of calories I burned that week was insane!
